Well, how long will an IntelliBED last?

We have two ways to measure how durable our mattresses are – testing, and real life experience.

• Our mattresses have undergone extensive testing for durability. Both types of tests are to simulate 20 years of mattress use:
• The Cornel test (right) pounds the mattress with 230 lbs. of force 100,000 times in the same spot. At the end of this test, the IntelliBED was only at 22.8% of the way to the failure level for indentation (allowable indentation 1¾”, IntelliBED had 0.4”), and the IntelliBED was only 4% softer than the beginning (allowable softening before declared a fail of the test – 40%! Would you like your bed to soften up to 40%?)
• The Rollator test (at right) rolls a 230 lb. hexagonal weight 200,000 times across the mattress. In this test, the IntelliBED was only 18.8% of the way to the failure level (allowable indentation 1.0”, IntelliBED indented 3/16”), and the firmness of the mattress only changed to 4.5% softer!

 

In real life testing, because the IntelliBED relieves peak pressure so well, the first use of the IntelliBED technology was in hospital burn wards, and hospital wards that treat patients with pressure ulcers (bedsores).

• The Posture Perfect Deluxe: This mattress is what I call our “Half-Way In-between” mattress, since it’s essentially designed to be exactly half-way between the Relief Perfect and the Posture Perfect. It offers more pressure relief and less back support than the Posture Perfect, and more back support and less pressure relief than the Relief Perfect. For those with both back pain and pressure issues, this can be a very good choice.
